MUMBAI: If you are travelling by Virgin Atlantic, Austrian airways, South African airways or United Airways, your flight is most likely to depart from India on time. As per the recent data by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), these airlines are among the top five airlines which depart on time. Mihin Lanka is another carrier which is punctual, shows the data.
With the exception of Virgin Atlantic, which has a departure OTP of about 96% from Indian airports, the other four airlines have departed on time on all occasions they took-off from the city.
When it comes to international arrivals, KLM, Korean airline, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan airlines have a 100% OTP. Mihin Lanka is also among the top five. Officials said that some of these airlines operate once a day or one every few days. "This is why they can manage to keep 100% OTP compared to airlines which operate multiple flights from the city," said an official.
However, even disciplined operations also enable these airlines to stick to their slots and minimize delays at the airport.
